Trade Field Day
The 2012 NSW Beef Spectacular and Trade Field Day is always changing and evolving around the Agriculture industry to meet the needs of farmers and industry. In the past few years The NSW Beef Spectacular and Trade Field Day has had up to 100 Trade sites from NSW, Victoria and Queensland attend the event at Dubbo Showgrounds.
In 2011 the committee decided to make a real push to develop a new Field Day on the circuit at the Dubbo showgrounds to be known as the Trade Field Day as part of the NSW Beef Spectacular. The idea is to combine a strong Beef event in the heart of NSW and combine it with a Trade Field Day, encompassing all types of equipment, gadgets, clothing and machinery for small and broad acre farming.
There was a market to start a Field Day in this area at this time of year as it was a perfect opportunity to build a new field day in a very productive area in the Golden West. Dubbo is the major trading and service centre for the Central West and Western plains, offering a range of industries, businesses and importantly a diverse range of farming enterprises. The grounds at Dubbo showgrounds will offer all the usual ammenities that are offered at other field days, with the added benefits of being attached to one of the States premier Beef Cattle shows and Information seminars.
The NSW Beef Spectacular and Trade Field Day will once again attract close to 800 head of cattle – 300 cattle exhibitors + several thousand on lookers, just for the cattle show.
The event is heavily promoted through The Land Newspaper and the Ruralpress network and both events will be promoted separately on their own merits and also as a combined event. Come and join the faster growing Beef and Trade Field day of its kind in NSW
Testimonials
Tony Fenwick
Rural Manager – Metalcorp Steel
"Beef Spectacular is now one of the major highlights on the cattle industry calendar, the event provides the perfect opportunity for producers and business to get together and build relationships. As Australia's leading and largest steel retailer and manufacturer of cattle yards, Beef Spectacular and Trade Field day is the perfect opportunity to get behind the industry that supports us. Metalcorp has sponsored Beef Spectacular with the heavy duty, robust, galvanised anti-bruised rail for the pens of bull's competition for the last two years; producers have purchased the panels after seeing them at the event. There is brand recognition and flow on effect as producers have telephoned to order the same cattle panels that were used at Beef Spectacular."

Managing Director – National Stockyard Systems
"The NSW Beef Spectacular and trade expo provides exposure and brand awareness for our product. People see your product and tell other people, the flow on effect goes on for years. We have struck people from all over the country at the event; from as far as South Australia and Vic you would not strike this amount of coverage at another field day. In 10 years the NSW Beef Spectacular and Trade Field Day will be the biggest and best cattle event in NSW."
Greg Ebbeck
CEO Speckle Park Cattle Association
"Interest from visitors to the NSW Beef Spectacular has helped the breed flourish; we started out at Beef Spectacular as a display in 2008 before we had any cattle to show. At that show, the level of interest was amazing, and we sold all the embryos we had to producers from as far away as Queensland and Victoria. Speckle Park Cattle Company returned to the NSW Beef Spectacular in 2009 and sold a half share in a bull calf for $25,000. Presence at the 2010 NSW Beef Spectacular was essential for the Speckle Park breed to grow in Australia, a new breed such as Speckle Park needs to be commercially relevant and Beef Spectacular gives us the opportunity to show that we are. Dubbo is very central, easy for our breeders to get to and is a better place to meet than shows such as Sydney Royal Show."
