17/08/2008 1:00:01 AM

EIGHT men were arrested in Antigua yesterday in connection with the murder of a Welsh couple who were on their honeymoon on the Caribbean island.

The arrests came after police earlier arrested and charged two women "with offences connected to the murders".

Ben and Catherine Mullany, both 31, were killed on July 27 when thieves broke into the their resort while they were sleeping and shot them both.

Catherine died instantly from a single gunshot to her head while Ben succumbed to a bullet to the neck, which had fractured his skull, a week later.
