12 Jan, 2010 09:31 AM
STRONG competition at the annual Goulburn first-cross ewe sale last Friday helped prices exceed expectations.

The yarding of 11,841 first-cross ewes and ewe lambs sold for a complete clearance during hot conditions.

The 9510, one-and-a-half-year-old first-cross ewes sold from $10 to $175, for an average of $136.

Lambs were well sought after and first-cross ewe lambs made from $68 to $127, for an average of $91.
