PRICES lifted by nearly $900 at the Northern Breeders Limousin Sale at Scone last Friday, where the bulls averaged $4028.
The top bull, Froghollow Blackout B285, was sold by Matt and Jen Friend, Froghollow Limousins, Black Mountain, for $13,000.
Mr Friend, who is also the chair of the sale committee, said he was very pleased with the whole sale as well as their own results.
"There was a top draw of bulls and a lot of buyers, so it was a solid sale right through," he said.
"I think the word of the sale is starting to get out - we had some bidders from Albury and Tasmania here today, which was very good."
Buyers of the top-priced bull, Stuart and Gigi Schneider, Le Meilleur Limousins, Albury, agreed with Mr Friend's assessment of the sale and said they were pleased with their purchase.
The Schneiders were also vendors at the sale and said while prices were strong, the "exceptional quality" of the bulls would keep buyers happy with their purchases.
