Cows with calves to $1550 at CTLX female sale

20 Oct, 2008 03:56 PM
The Central Tableland Livestock Exchange Premier Female sale was held at Carcoar on Friday, where Angus cows with calves topped the market at $1550.

Some 2500 females were offered at the fourth annual female sale, which met good demand.

Joe Vella, "Prairie Vale", Milfield, along with Joe Said, "Augusta", Milfield, (pictured) purchased a pen of 16 eight- to 11-month-old Limousin heifers for $510.

Mr Said also purchased a pen for $620.

Mr Vella said he was happy with the price he paid and good Limousins were getting harder to find.
