Bundarra’s Bradley wins the big one

07 Feb, 2010 03:00 AM
It takes a supreme effort to win an interbreed grand champion ribbon, which makes the achievement of 12-year-old stud owner, Bradley Doak, Bundarra, all the more commendable.

Standing proud in the paraders’ ring at Bundarra Show last Saturday, nothing could stop the smile spreading across his face.

But it almost never was.

Three weeks was all the preparation time Bradley had to break in the Charolais heifer, Boongatti Blanch 2, for his home-town show.

By about 3pm on the afternoon of the show, Bradley was pleased he’d persevered.

Judge and Industry and Investment NSW beef cattle officer, Alastair Rayner, Tamworth, said Bradley’s presentation of the heifer highlighted her balance of growth and maturity in combination with her strong maternal traits.
