$38,000 smile at Wattletop Angus sale

06 Aug, 2009 06:49 PM
PRICES skyrocketed at the Rogers family’s Wattletop Angus bull sale, Guyra, on Wednesday, where bulls sold to a stud record of $38,000.

Wattletop Ann C109 (AI)(ET) was secured by John and Joan Woodruff, Witherswood Angus stud, Glenrowan, Victoria after a fierce bidding battle.

The son of Bando 9074 appealed to its new owners for its overall phenotype and balance of figures.

“We’ve been looking for a new sire for 18 months,” said Mr Woodruff.

“We think this bull is just perfect to continue in our breeding programme at Witherswood.”

Other bulls sold for $14,000, $13,000 and $12,000, with the 67 bulls sold averaging $6515.
