Growers to receive $330m from AWB National Pool

09 Dec, 2008 05:32 PM
AWB will make a $330 million free on board ($318m net) distribution to growers who delivered to its 2007/08 National Pool.

The payment, to be distributed on December 17, will bring cumulative payments from the record 2007/08 National Pool to $1.9 billion FOB.

AWB National Pool manager David Johnson said after the December distribution to growers, 98pc of the 2007/08 Pool equity would have been paid out.

"This is a record National Pool return for Australian growers, and represents the most rapid pace of payments growers have received, which we hope will benefit those growers coming off two seasons of tough conditions," Mr Johnson said.

AWB will complete its sales and shipping program from the 2007/08 Pool at the end of December.

Once final revenues are received and auditing and outturn adjustments are completed the remaining equity in the Pool will be distributed to growers.

Pool equities in the 2007/08 National Pool remain unchanged since the last update, with the benchmark APW grade remaining at a record $422.50/t.
