02 Jun, 2009 11:51 AM
The team from St Johns College Dubbo collected the Champion Led Steer title via an 11-month-old Kirk family-bred Limousin at the 2009 Country Energy Casino Beef Week festival on the weekend.

It was the second year in a row the students have won the big title, and the fifth time in the nine years they have been travelling to Casino to compete.

But in many ways, it was the winner of the lightweight class that stole the show, when the delightful story of how the young steer made his way to Casino emerged.
