Minister for Police and Emergency Services, Michael Gallacher, said there was much damage to critical infrastructure, property and road networks.
“By declaring Natural Disasters for these Council areas, we are unlocking a number of measures to help local residents, business owners and farmers get back on their feet faster.
“We will continue to monitor the situation in those flood affected areas and if necessary, additional councils may need to be declared Natural Disasters,” Mr Gallacher said.
Here is a summary of the current NSW Disaster Assistance Arrangements.
Personal Hardship and Distress Assistance – grants to individuals and families whose homes and essential household items have been destroyed or damaged; people with limited financial resources and no insurance may be eligible for assistance for essential household items and structural repairs to the home. Primary Producers and small businesses - Loans of up to $130,000 at concessional interest rate. Contact the NSW Rural Assistance Authority 1800 678 593.
Primary Producers - Transport freight subsidies of up to 50 per cent on the carriage of livestock and fodder. Contact 1800 814 647.
Motor Vehicle Stamp Duty Relief - stamp duty refund on replacement vehicle. Contact 1300 139 814.
