NSW Irrigators calls for apology

02 Jul, 2009 05:37 PM
THE NSW Irrigators Council has challenged South Australian Premier Mike Rann to provide evidence of the accusations of illegal activity by irrigators or to apologise for making false remarks to the Adelaide media last week.

Mr Rann’s comments followed accusations from Chairman of SA’s Murray Irrigators and Liberal Party candidate, Tim Whetstone, who toured NSW.

Following publication of the accusations, NSWIC issued a media release asking Mr Whetstone to provide evidence in relation to his accusations to the proper authorities or to apologise for making false accusations, but Mr Whetstone has not responded.

Premier Rann has now become complicit in these allegations, according to the irrigators body, which has now issues the same challenge to Mr Rann.
