NSW Farmers want Royal Commission in support of Peter Spencer

04 Jan, 2010 04:17 PM
With farmers marching on Parliament House in Canberra in support of farmer Peter Spencer, the NSW Farmers’ Association is calling upon the Federal Government to initiate an investigation into the science behind climate change.

NSW Farmers’ Association president Charles Armstrong says the agricultural sector is already being severely impacted by ill-considered laws.

“The ban on the development of farming land is impacting on the livelihood of farmers and their ability to supply the food required to meet growing global demand,” Mr Armstrong said.

“This ban has directly affected people such as Mr Spencer,” he said.

The Association says it is supporting its members through legal opinions on various laws and initiating or supporting particular actions in court.

The NSW Farmers’ Association with the National Farmers’ Federation (NFF) and the Australian Farmers Fighting Fund have supported Mr Spencer financially in his legal action on this issue.

"Farmers should not be carrying the burden of Australia’s carbon reduction ambitions. We are continuing our call for a Royal Commission into the science that is driving the Government’s policies on climate change," Mr Armstrong said.

Good on you NSW Farmers and Charles Armstrong for taking up this fight on behalf of our future food security and economic security. Good on you for not falling into line and kow towing to the false worship of the environment, trees and creatures like so many who rule do today. It is good to know that we have not watched and waited as they did in Germany under fascist rule until there were none left to support the truth and love of one another. It has been sad to see Peter carry this fight for so long on his own it seems with only Peter King at his side. I know he has had many secret supporters and mates also suffering in silence. It is time to fight while there are enough left standing to fight for the truth. Do we really want to continue to lock up our land of nature's (God's) great gifts and watch them burn or do we want to continue to use them to help and love one another? We must reverse the evil work done by Wran, Carr, Brown, Garrett and others as they have persecuted farmers and debased them below trees and furry animals causing all to perish in fiery furnaces with most started by evil policies and lightning strikes - not evil arsonists and random chance.

I think part of the problem is consumerism. I believe farmers need to continue to be able to make a living, at the same time there is an over production of produce. A large quantity of the food produced goes to waste, as highlighted by the recent media coverage of wastage of bananas. If consumers realise that a little blemish on food does not mean it can't be eaten, then farmers won't need to overproduce, or need more farmland for development which will mean less impact on the environment as well. As an added bonus, the ability for farmers to sell the less than perfect produce will mean more income for the farmers instead of wastage. Let's change the consumers' thinking and stop wastage.

I support Peter Spencer and all faming communities and think carbon trading is nonsense.
