WALGETT did not receive its wish under the new boundaries for the looming Rural Lands Protection Board "super" branches, which were announced yesterday.
The Iemma Government has pledged $3 million to push through the changes by January 1.
The State's 47 boards will be reduced to 14 within four months.
Walgett RLPB wanted to form a board with Coonamble and Nyngan but the request has been refused.
Instead it will be placed with its initial proposed super board with Northern Slopes, Narrabri and Moree in the new "North West" branch.
NSW Primary Industries Minister Ian Macdonald said: “It is crucial we now move forward in implementing these changes quickly and efficiently."
Change management consultants from PricewaterhouseCoopers will work with State Council and assist during the change management process.
