Leave our docs alone

"DON'T take our doctors" is the plea from the peak farmer lobby group in NSW.

NSW Farmers Association president Jock Laurie expressed apprehension about suggestions that incentive programs for rural doctors across Australia may be removed from the Federal Budget.

“Rural and regional areas are already under-represented when it comes to medical and health services, and to jeopardise future services would be a travesty,” Mr Laurie said.

“Unfortunately, that is exactly what stands to happen should such medical incentives be lost."

God help us please. Where are these people from. We desperately need doctors in the bush. They are like hen's teeth. The ones we have are ageing and want to scale back or retire but can't because no one wants to replace them. The Government has major problems with health in the bush already. We are stressed, overworked and definitely underpaid. But who cares? We are a minority with few votes so we can be hurt and not affect there vote base. Politicians of today only seem to care for number one. How often do we see most of them and do they really listen to us? NO
