THE weather experts said it was going to be a scorcher and it was.
Temperature records throughout NSW tumbled today and more hot weather was expected.
Figures from Weatherzone show just some of the records bested by the sun.
Cobar recorded 45 degrees Celsius – its most scorching November day in 47 years of records.
Goulburn reached 39 degrees, its hottest November day in 19 years of records.
Braidwood had a 38-degree day, its warmest November day in 24 years of records.
Mudgee topped at 40 degrees, hotter than any November day in the past 19 years.
Meanwhile, Condobolin, Bega and Dubbo recorded temperatures of 45 degrees, 43 degrees and 42 degrees respectively.
Mangrove Mountain on the Central Coast had temps as high as 41 degrees while Moruya reached 40 degrees.
Meteorologist for weatherzone.com.au Matt Pearce said the heat came because of northwesterly winds carrying "extremely hot air".
"(The hot air) has been building over the interior of the continent down across New South Wales," Mr Pearce said.
"A trough of low pressure crossing the state tonight will drop temperatures slightly tomorrow, but it will still be a very hot weekend, particularly in the northeastern half of the state.
"A more significant cool change will move through later on Sunday."
