Large parts of inland New South Wales are expected to swelter this week, with temperatures forecast well above average, prolonging the heat-wave.
Tamworth in particular will be feeling the heat when Thursday and Friday sees the mercury hit 44 degrees, a new November record.
Come next Monday, Tamworth is also expected have had 9 days in a row above 36, a feat not seen in 15 years of records for any month.
Many places, in the New England and Northern Tablelands, including Tamworth, are well on track to have their hottest November since 2006.
A trough situated over the state, reaching up into central NT, is partly to blame for this unseasonal weather.
Hot northerly winds will be driving down the heat that has been building up in central NT.
Other towns best to avoid if you hate the heat are Moree and Mungindi who are both expected to have maximum temperatures above 40 for the next week.
