Helping out at the Lake

05 Jul, 2009 05:00 AM
Clean up efforts in Lake Cargelligo continue more than 16 months after storms caused extensive damage.

The storm included flooding and a mini-cyclone which caused damage, especially to fences.

Volunteers from across the State are helping with the work, not least members of the Terrey Hills Rotary Club, who travelled to the town, west of Condobolin, last month.

Nine Rotarians each spent five days helping farmers on their Lake Cargelligo properties.

Terrey Hills Rotary Club past president, John Spresser, said the group had heard about the project through their club movement.

He said the farmers had been very appreciative of their efforts.
