Dalwood tops parents' concerns

17 Mar, 2010 08:24 AM
THE closure of the Dalwood Assessment Centre and Palm Avenue School has been a topic of great discussion at this week's Isolated Children's Parents' Association (ICPA) State conference in Balranald.

The lack of diagnostic and support services for students in rural and regional NSW was a concern for many delegates from across the State.

The conference discussed many issues affecting access to education, including the closure of the Seaforth special education services and access to allowances, as well as the implementation of new technologies to overcome the tyranny of distance.

The 38th State conference is continuing, but some northern and north-west delegates were unable to make the trip due to flooding.
