THE $5 a head cattle transportation levy and export charge was passed at the Meat and Livestock Australia annual general meeting in Darwin, Northern Territory, this week.
The motion was one of several carries at the AGM, where members also put three new directors on the MLA board.
Peter Trefort, Western Australia, CEO and director of Swift Australia, Iain Mars, and CSIRO livestock industried deputy chief of business developments, Dr Greg Harper, were each elected as new board directors.
Minor amendments to the MLA constitution were also universally carried.
