Receiver McGrathNicol sold Volcot Holding's 30.59 per cent stake in Tandou to three specialty funds.

UK-based Ecofin bought a 9.75 per cent stake for $3.09 million, or 36¢ a share, while its affiliate Ecofin Power & Opportunities bought 9.75 per cent stake for the same amount, reports The Australian Financial Review.

New York-based Water Asset Management bought the remaining 13.1 per cent for about $4.55 million.

It purchased the majority of shares at 40¢ a share. Both bids were above Guinness Peat Group's bid for Tandou at 33¢ a share.
