Shorthorn National sale at Dubbo hits $19,000 high

An even line-up for top quality Shorthorn bulls were paraded and sold at the 49th annual Dectomax National Shorthorn Show and Sale at Dubbo, NSW, on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The grand champion bull hailed from the Evans family's Nagol Park stud at Tamworth, NSW, and prices reached $19,000 at the sale.

Leanne Neilsen, Rylstone, NSW, became only the second female judge at the event.

The first female judge was Margaretta Morgan, Arubial Shorthorns, Condamine, Qld, in 2001.

And the exhibitor of the grand champion bull, Nagol Park Beaut Bull B031, was Niaomi Evans, Nagol Park Shorthorn stud, Tamworth.

The $19,000 sale top price was paid by the McDouall family, Dunbeacon stud, Upper Horton, NSW, for Bayview Jackpot B27, bred by the Thompson family, Bayview stud, Yorketown, SA.
