National variety trials website upgrade

24 Nov, 2008 06:07 PM
The National Variety Trials website has received a timely upgrade before most results from 2008 trials go online.

NVT manager Alan Bedggood says the website is more user-friendly and is easier for growers to navigate.

A map of Australia is provided on the home page, enabling growers to quickly access trial data pertinent to their particular region.

From there a single mouse-click is all that is required to obtain a document with all 2007 trial results for a selected crop type.

Trial results from 2008 will start appearing from the end of November, and then progressively until mid-January when all results should be available.

Growers considering varieties for sowing next season are encouraged to visit the NVT website for independent assessment of grain varieties’ performance in field conditions.

The NVT trial program is managed by the Australian Crop Accreditation System Ltd and supported by growers and the Australian Government through the Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC).
