High temperatures have seared through parts of NSW in the last few days.
As storms batter other parts of the state, the South Coast has seen temperatures soar into the mid-thirties.
Many places have seen their hottest maximums today since the middle of January.
Friday is forecast to be very different as a cool change marches through and maximums not expected to even reach the mid-twenties.
Ulladulla scorched to 34 degrees, that's a massive 11 degrees above average and their hottest March day since 2004.
The reason for the warmth has been a high in the Tasman helping and sustaining warm northerly and northeasterly winds.
Further inland and into the Lower Western, daytime temperatures have been about average.
However, with plenty of cloud cover at night, with higher humidity levels, many places saw an uncomfortable night's sleep.
Ivanhoe only fell to 22 degrees, 7 degrees above average and their warmest night since the heatwave in the start of February.
As we move into the weekend it's forecast that we will see the mercury fall, perhaps dropping as low as 12 degrees on Saturday night.
